Words of welcome

New UVic President Dr. Dave Turpin, centre, chats with first-year students during Orientation tour day last Saturday. He urged them to take full advantage of their university experience — inside and outside the classroom. “What you’ll remember when you look back is the broad social and cultural milieu that defines a university,” he said. “Mine it for all it’s worth.” For an interview with Turpin, see New man on campus.
