An estimated 300 students gathered in front of the Business and Economics Building Nov. 5 to support increased funding for post-secondary education and quality education. Organized by the UVic Students Society and the student organizations in the Anthropology, Geography, and Philosophy departments, the rally aimed to make University officials and government representatives aware of the students' concern over the impact of budget cuts on their education. Course offerings, the replacement of retiring faculty and the availability of Lab spaces and computer facilities were among the specific concerns cited by the organizers. Students representatives met with Vice President Academic Dr. Penny Codding after the rally.
