UVic researchers assess efficiency of
Canada's aging landfills

Referring to ocean sediments he and colleagues have extracted from Saanich Inlet to look at climate and natural disasters of the past 14,000 years. Whiticar is quoted in a story describing an enormous wall of water, about 100 metres high, that broke through a giant ice dam and swept over Canada's West Coast 11,000 years ago.
