THE UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA |
Leonardo rememberedDrs. Betty Hanley and Bill Zuk (arts in education) admire the Leonardo da Vinci commemorative mural presented to the university Feb. 20 by art students at Cowichan Valley Secondary School in Duncan as a legacy of the B.C. Art Teachers' Association conference which was being held at UVic. The mural, which hangs in the foyer of the David Lam Auditorium in the MacLaurin building, was produced as a class project by 33 students of Cowichan Secondary art teacher Lynda Faulks. The large structure is composed of individual clay tiles that were glazed, fired, and mounted for hanging. The tiles all deal with the life and times of Leonardo. Robie Liscomb photo |
