The Anniversary Awards: Celebrating 50 years of excellence
Do you know a UVic graduate who has made a significant impact on the world? The 50th Anniversary Awards will honour five alumni who have made such an impact, and represent the diversity that is UVic and our 50-year history. And the time to submit your nomination is now.
Save the date: Sept. 28–30, 2012
The university is currently planning its 50th Anniversary Festival to help celebrate this momentous milestone by opening its doors and welcoming the local community onto campus on the last weekend in September.
Supporting teaching excellence for a third of a century
Dr. Neil Gold picks his words carefully. Not only because he is a law professor, but because he is addressing an issue some academics struggle to balance in their careers. Gold is at UVic to give a talk about the scholarship of teaching and learning, marking the 33rd anniversary of the Learning and Teaching Centre (LTC).
Distinguished Alumni Awarded
As part of UVic’s Alumni Week (Feb. 6–12) celebrations, 12 UVic grads were honoured with Distinguished Alumni Awards Feb. 8 at the University Club.
